Travels with Emma

Emma, her dog, came to live with my wife and me two years ago. Emma is still around and full of energy. In the summer of 2018, the traveling bug bit my mom and she traveled in a small rig from southern California up to visit me and my brother in MN and my sister in Indiana. This past winter she sold the rig and bought a car.

Travels with Emma: There comes a time…

(8 days ago) The frequent travel just was not so much fun anymore. It looks like I am headed to a fishing location part of the year, a grandkid location part of the year and maybe a couple of weeks travel between the two locations each year.

Travels with Emma: Keeping busy

(4 days ago) One of my frequent commenters has asked a couple of times what it is I do to fill my days now that I have a home base, and am not tooling around a National Wildlife Refuge and volunteering.

Travels with Emma: Settling in, and a trip back to California

(1 days ago) The rest including the satellite dish, 50 mile travel time, and labor was covered by my service agreement. When the sun finally made an appearance this afternoon in Brookings, I decided a little road trip was in order, so I headed south back into California. After about 25 miles, I found myself at the headquarters for Redwood National Park.

Travels with Emma: Some thoughts about traveling solo, and

(Just Now) Some thoughts about traveling solo, and other wonderings. It’s not been a very exciting time around here since the Blogger-Fest in Quartzsite last Saturday. Between working three days in the VC, and the cloudy/rainy weather I’ve just been taking care of necessary chores. That leaves me plenty of time for my mind to wander.

Travels with Emma: Special visitors

(8 days ago) Get a load of those talons! Glad I’m not a rodent. Tomorrow we’re going to do the Painted Desert Trail, and maybe a little kayaking. It’s nice to spend a couple of days with special friends laughing, chatting, and enjoying the great outdoors. Thanks for stopping by… talk to you later, Judy. Travels with Emma: 2016

(4 days ago) Along the way I had to travel through a portion of Anza Borrego Desert State Park. I just wished these ocotillos were in bloom so the flowers at the tips of the branches would have brought out a pop of red. I got to the refuge and stopped at the visitors center to find out what was around.

Travels with Emma: September 2009

(7 days ago) A no news travel day. I was on the road this morning by 9:30, and headed west on I 80. After 270 miles I pulled into a Passport America campground about 40 miles west of Omaha, Nebraska. About the best I can say for this place is that it's OK for an overnight, but that's it.

Travels with Emma: Such a bargain!

(4 days ago) Baltic Tours & Travel are one the most popular thing one should not opt for. Wondering why? As Baltic gives the opportunity to explore the beauty of Europe along with some essence of medieval architecture too. Her you will get to see many churches, cathedral, palaces and much more. Coming here for your vacation will be a treatment choice.

Travels with Emma: August 2010

(7 days ago) Emma and I left a little before 8:00, and it took us slightly over five hours to travel those 42 miles, and then we took a paved highway back to the rig. This refuge is known for it’s spectacular spring migration of birds, so I didn’t have terribly high expectations for the last week of August.
